So basically this has been a really bad month for our family..and it doesn't look like the rest of the year will get much better. I found out that my Granddad has been diagnosed with stage 4 aggressive cancer that has spread to his ribs, shoulder, and spine. He is 85 years old and for some reason the doctors think the best thing they can do is put him through 5 radiation treatments a week for four weeks. I think they are crazy. So, the prognosis is not good. I've heard anything from 2 months to six months.
We have also had some other family issues that were quite depressing this last month, and though i'm pretty sure no one will ever read this, i still don't feel like I should share them for the entire internet to read.
So, in my professional life, I just got done presenting a poster at a regional meeting, which was very good and I got some great feedback. I also have a department seminar coming up on November 4 (I always hate those) and I will be handing in the preproposals for my comprehensive exams..bleh. I have half of the first preproposal done..not bad.. Now I just need to come up with a second topic..Blah. The one shining light in all of this is that Mollee is doing great in school. She just graduated to pre-kindergarten and is learning a lot. She is drawing some fantastic pictures of us.. I love this picture of her.> I'm so crazy, I cried when I saw it.
I am also looking forward to finishing up the first "chapter" of my research and getting a paper out.. Very excited for that..I mean, that puts me 1/3 closer to being done and moving out of Misery..Oops.. homonym..

Still Plagued..just not creatively.
